Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Huddinge, Sweden, SBG designs and manufactures software and hardware for surveying and machine control applications.
While SBG was launched as a surveying consultancy, it began developing software for in-house use for managing surveying data. As more people became interested, SBG started selling the software commercially. During the 1980s, SBG linked its field calculators with digital instruments that were currently on the market. Pocket computers with DOS as the operating system formed the foundations for SBG's field computer software. SBG developed Total stations during the early 1990s followed machine automation.
